Puligny-Montrachet Les Enseignères, Girardin
A generous style of Puligny-Montrachet from a famous vineyard, offering succulent peach and summer flower aromas, albeit balanced by the village’s trademark mineral tautness. Nicely tuned, with understated oak and a long citrus finish.
The Girardin family was based in santenay, in the southern Côte de Beaune, for three centuries until Vincent made his bid for freedom. inheriting two hectares of vines from his parents, he has spent the last thirthy years building up the domaine to its current twenty hectares, and supplementing the range purchases from other carefully selected sites. since 2009, Girardin’s own vineyards have been farmed along biodynamic lines, and the winemaking throughout aims for clarity of expression while allowing the wines to be enjoyed in the youth.
